An Assistant Department Manager develops and motivates department associates. Develops the department’s sales growth by monitoring and improving the department’s level of customer service and visual presentation. Primary job responsibilities of an Assistant Department Manager include the following:
-Oversees the department in the Department Manager's absence
-Directs personnel in selling and non selling duties
-Communicates day to day department and individual performance observations to Department Manager
-Monitors customer merchandise requests, holds, and alterations pick up
-Assesses sales associates’ performance fairly and participates in conducting reviews
-Must be available to work a rotation of day, evening, and weekend shifts. May be scheduled to work 6 days a week and up to 8 hours a day during peak department business times.
